From one tranquil Barr Group base to another

Welcome to The Cowshed, our newly renovated Cotswolds home

As Barr Group projects continued to move west of HQ, we found ourselves searching for a suitable Cotswolds hub... Enter, stage left: The Cowshed.

At Barr Group, our workforce, our clients and our project partners remain at the centre of everything we do... so, with our project base extending resolutely into West Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, we have too!

Over the past two decades, Barr Group projects have expanded beyond the confines of the Buckinghamshire and South Oxfordshire borders — firstly into West London and Berkshire (both within striking distance of Barr Group HQ) and then, increasingly, into West Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.

“We are pleased to be bringing Barr Group closer to our current and future projects. In doing so, we will be better able to serve our clients and project partners.”
Stuart Barr, Barr Group Founder & Director

Last year, the completion of our 25th Cotswolds project coincided with a focus on our 10-year sustainability plan... with both highlighting the need for a second Barr Group base in West Oxfordshire. It would be somewhere to work and host project meetings close to our Cotswolds sites — both reducing people and materials movements and supporting project efficiency.

Tucked away in the heart of the Cotswolds — just outside the village of Kingham, a few miles from Chipping Norton, is a delightfully Barr-esque cluster of farm buildings, which together house a collection of entrepreneurial and creative businesses. Where better to locate the Barr Group Cotswolds hub?

“Overall, there will be less time spent on the road — reducing our organisational carbon footprint and positively impacting team wellbeing, whilst supporting project efficiencies and outputs.”

Under the careful eye of Barr Build Associate Director Fred Kirkness and the always-excellent Ordinary Interiors team, The Cowshed was transformed from an unassuming bare barn into a welcoming work and meeting space, with all of the comfort and functionality required to create a calm, accessible work hub.

"Much of The Cowshed's appeal came from our attachment to the Barr Group Field Farm HQ, where we have easy access to London and Oxford, whilst working in the countryside," says Barr Build Associate Director Fred Kirkness. "We knew that locating in a town centre wouldn't be right for us. We felt, straight away, that The Cowshed would be the perfect Field Farm alternative... it offers the same countryside calm but is a valuable hour further west."

We look forward to welcoming friends, clients and project partners to our new Cotswolds home over the coming weeks and months.
