In celebration of exceptional design-led projects
Barr Group project partners gather at Soho Farmhouse

We gathered some of our project partners at Soho Farmhouse to celebrate bringing exceptional projects to life, as well as taking the chance to catch up with friends and colleagues.
From the beginning, Barr Group has been first and foremost about people… not just the Barr Group team, but the wider Barr Group community, our clients, project partners, suppliers, subcontractors, and so many others.
Without these people, we simply couldn’t do what we do — making close relationships and trust a vital part of each successful project. Get-togethers like this one give us a chance to relax together away from the project coalface.

The team at Soho Farmhouse looked after us beautifully — and the stunning Glasshouse provided the perfect space to socialise, allowing us to feel outdoors indoors, happily protected from the comedy British weather. Thankfully, Barr Build golf umbrellas and the fleet of Soho Farmhouse electric people transporters were at the ready to save us from the next downpour.
At the event, we had the opportunity to hear from leading health and wellness expert Ross J. Barr, who was interviewed by Jo Calver, Isla James Interiors, on behalf of our industry audience. Ross emphasised the importance of wellbeing in the midst of our increasingly demanding, screen-dominated working lives. He imparted some great takeaway messages, such as "going back to the 90s", a decade when we read books and watched films on VHS without mobile device interruption.

Other life hacks from Ross included starting each day with a serene half-hour of morning rituals before tuning in to our busy online worlds. Much of his advice was centred around balance — reducing the frequency and intensity of fight or flight responses, which, in a perfect world, would be reserved for urgent or dangerous situations. Ross’s grounding 80–20 principle reminded us to care for our health and fitness most of the time, while still allowing space to indulge now and then — because joy and laughter release endorphins that are just as vital as vitamins and exercise.
For every project embraced by Barr Group, whether a long-term country estate renovation, a listed building restoration, a from-scratch new dwelling build, or a whole-property cabinetry manufacture project, it is only made possible by an exceptional extended team coming together to make it happen. So, in the name of wellbeing, strong relationships, and most of all fun, we look forward to finding all sorts of enjoyable ways to spend time with more of our valued colleagues and project partners over the coming months and years.
