OVERVIEW: Renovation works to the main residence and its ancillary structures were followed by an extensive landscaping and build project, which included a stone pool house, a glazed art studio, a garden store, and associated works.
Central to the scheme is a pool area surrounded by dry-stone walls into which the new pool house, art studio and garden store are sympathetically nestled.
Materials of Cotswold stone, slate, steel and timber reflect the local building vernacular, and low-rise profiles bring balanced scaling to the overall scheme. The collaborative design nods to the site's long-ago farm curtilage, with the three new structures representing a cluster of farm outbuildings. The dry-stone walling envelopes the space, binding the buildings together and forming the back walls of the art studio and garden store.
