PROJECT TYPE: Direct to Client
OVERVIEW: With the aim of perfecting the flow and purpose of the wider property, the barns renovation was the last bastion of the Maresfield House renovation programme. The project aim was the restoration and repurposing of two 17th-century curtilage listed barns, creating a separate annexed “party barn”. The project focused on the energy efficiency and longevity of the barns, with the installation of breathable insulation and a new limecrete subfloor futureproofing against damp and heat loss. Structural alterations and a subservient matched extension were executed in line with heritage recommendations, with external works and new entrance ways carefully created to improve flow and functionality without compromise to their historical forms.
