Wyndham House
Buckinghamshire
PROJECT TYPE: Extension & Renovation
INTERIOR DESIGN: Ordinary Interiors
OVERVIEW: Working on a cost-plus basis, to enable rapid mobilisation while allowing for continued design work, the project scope included a full mechanical and engineering refit, as well as infrastructure works, restoration works, refit, and finishes in all areas. The first phase extension was an expansive new two-storey section to the rear and far side of the property, housing a new kitchen-dining room, as well as a drinks room and walk-in pantry, and a main bedroom suite and dressing room on the first floor. The second phase extension was an elongated single-storey section to the front of the property, housing a new entrance hall, boot room, utility room, guest suite and home gym.
Original architectural features throughout the old and new sections of the property were restored and enhanced. A series of archways, inside and out, were incorporated, expanding on the stunning Arts and Crafts arched brick detailing to the original main entrance. Original sash windows were refurbished and finished in matt black, balancing with the new arched and Crittall-style fenestration.
