Wallingford Farmhouse

Wallingford, Oxfordshire

A modern country house, built from scratch; every inch considered, constructed and manufactured by the Barr Group.

Barr Group were commissioned to convert the drawings of Nichols Brown Webber Architects into reality, a truly collaborative project. Starting with the demolition of two redundant farm workers cottages, the works scope was the ‘from-scratch’ build of a stunning new family country home, with adjacent garaging and annexe.

From first spade in the ground to last roof tile and everything in between, Barr Build, Barr Kitchens and Barr Joinery worked tirelessly in their quest for perfection. The inspiration for the entire project came from the design minds of our clients David Flint Wood and India Hicks. Everything from windows and door sets, kitchen and boot room, entranceways and architraves, were made-to-measure. The team worked under contract administrators Herrington and Associates to complete the build in under twelve months.

“Barr Group stand out through their genuine collaboration which was demonstrated through the quality, timing, budgeting and attention to detail applied to their work. The standards of finish they applied to the build of Wallingford Farmhouse were just as high as our own.”
David Flintwood, Barr Build Client

Straight from the incredible design minds of our clients, India Hicks and David Flint Wood, the Barr Group team was thrilled to work on this truly exceptional project. Every piece of joinery and fitted cabinetry were a carefully considered entity.

Collaborative Working

As with every Principal Contractor build, a strong extended team, working to the same goals and with a shared vision, is the key to an exceptional project outcome. The construction of Wallingford Farmhouse is the ultimate case in point.
