The restoration and extension of Ferry Cottage, a beautiful riverside house in Oxfordshire, is currently in progress.

The development of the Grade II*-listed building is to meet the current and future needs of the client, including the construction of a new two-storey extension separated from the cottage by a glazed link, with additional basement accommodation.

Most recently, subcontractor Cotswold Windows have installed glass panels made by Switzerland-based company Sky-Frame. Motorised sliding door frames were installed to the basement and the ground floor of the extension, then an M & M crane was set up within the compound that moved the glass to the ground floor as well as the basement level.

The sliding doors are moveable, but will have no power to them until first fix electrics has been completed in the coming weeks. Then one cable for both ground floor and basement level will get the motors operational.

Stay tuned for the journal article to see the finished project. Until then, the image gallery below should whet your appetite.

Ferry Cottage is not our first development on this site. Follow the link at the bottom of the page to see the Fern Cottage Annex project.
