Carpenter

Full-Time

We are recruiting for a skilled site carpenter/joiner. This person will be working on exceptionally high-specification residential projects, alongside a professional Barr Build team, to the very highest standards.

We are keen to talk to individuals who have specific experience in either listed/heritage construction and/or large-scale high-specification new builds.

Purpose & Objectives

• Carry out carpentry tasks and other site tasks to a high standard.

Main Duties & Tasks

• Complete 1st and 2nd fix carpentry jobs allocated.
• Work effectively with the team to ensure the job is completed on time and to a high standard.
• Liaise with the clients, being polite and responding to any issues or queries raised. Refer to the site foreman where necessary.
• Reading drawings to determine job requirements and ensure works carried out correctly.
• Work in a safe manner using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
• Ensure the site is tidy at all times.
• Ensure all site work personally carried out is efficient, effective and in a safe manner with due regard to Health and Safety requirements and other technical guidance such as Building Regulations.
• Be flexible in approach to hours and undertake any other similar duties, as required by the Site and Contracts Manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (essential)

• Relevant qualifications with substantial and proven experience
• Competent at all first-fix carpentry, including roofs.
• Competent at high-end second-fix carpentry, including cabinetry, modern and historic detailing.    
• Capable of undertaking one or more skills across the building industry.
• Full clean driving license and vehicle.
• Own an adequate tool kit to undertake your trade
• Own a full range of 110v or battery power tools with dust extraction suitable to undertake carpentry tasks.
• Own a full range of hand tools to undertake carpentry tasks.   
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of the Construction Industry and trades.

Salary

Dependent on experience and skill level.
